When I began my journey to holistic health, I often wondered how I could uncover exactly what my body wanted and how I could “know” exactly what each of my patients needed to help restore them to health and balance.  I figured a certain amount of knowledge, creative thought and experience would certainly help, but I desired the intuitive guidance to help others solve their tough health issues and to give hope to those who had been looking for a more natural way to deal with their health concerns.  Well it turns out, that my sixth sense was something that could actually be developed using a science and art called Applied Kinesiology.

Applied Kinesiology was developed in 1964 by Dr. George Goodheart and is used by doctors and practitioners to evaluate the individual needs of patients and to determine what therapy is needed.  A strong muscle test indicates that the muscle fibers are intact as well as the nerve supply, organ meridian, and blood supply.  Therefore, a weak muscle test can indicate a structural, nutritional, emotional, toxicity, or allergic issue. Muscle testing utilizes orthopedic and neurologic testing, patient history, exam findings, and gait mechanics to illustrate how a person is behaving while in activity or during rest.  Muscle testing can also illustrate the effectiveness of treatments by performing pre and post muscle tests in order to achieve certain outcomes in pain reduction, ranges of motion, function and flexibility.

Every other media flash touts the benefits and effects of yet another supplement or diet.  Through applied kinesiology testing, one can find out exactly what supplements, diet and exercise regimen are needed and can dose exactly how much is needed to restore the muscle back to strength.
