Chapel Hill – March 31
The University of North Carolina’s Association of Nursing Students (UNC ANS) will be holding its first annual Heels for Healing 5k and fun run on March 31. The beneficiary of the race will be BounceBack Kids, a Triangle nonprofit organization that serves children with life-challenging medical conditions and their families and caregivers. Other proceeds from the event will support UNC nursing students who wish to attend state and national nursing conferences, as well as other ANS needs. The association is delighted to hold this event in its inaugural year and hopes it will continue to be a wonderful opportunity to support the local community through BounceBack Kids as well as nursing students on the UNC Chapel Hill campus.
This fantastic course will start and finish at the Old Well. It will take runners through the historic Gimghoul neighborhood, past the Boshamer Baseball Stadium and Kenan Football Stadium, and through central campus.
In addition, the nursing students will have an amazing Kids’ Zone, which will include a half-mile kids’ fun run. Many of the BounceBack Kids families will be out and about showing their support to the runners and enjoying the fun day!
