The PTA of JY Joyner Elementary School is proud to announce their first 5k run/walk to be held on Sunday, March 25, at 3 p.m. on the JY Joyner school campus at 2300 Lowden Street in Raleigh. The PTA will combine the race with a health fair, a family picnic and a celebration party to end their Healthy Choice Marathon. The Healthy Choice Marathon is 25 days of healthy choices for the students and staff’s participation. Each day of the marathon includes at least 20 minutes of reading, one healthy food choice, and 20 minutes of activity.
The race will begin and end at the school. It will follow Noble Road and go past Kiwanis Park, where it will commence on the Raleigh Greenway. The course will follow Crabtree Creek along the greenway, cross over Anderson Road, and turnaround at the halfway point at Rothgeb Park.
