EVENT PREVIEW – Miles of Mooresville

Race City Runners of Mooresville is pleased to announce the return of the Miles of Mooresville race series on June 2. This year the races will be sponsored by the Lake Norman Charlotte Running Company and Queen City Timing. As always, one entry fee of $25 ($30 on race day) will give runners entry into three races: One-, two-, and three-mile distances.

The races will be staged on a Saturday morning on a new, flat and fast one-mile loop just north of the downtown area at North Main Street and Statesville Road. Packet pickup will be available on June 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lake Norman location of the Charlotte Running Company (for directions: www.charlotterunning.com).

There will also be same-day registration and packet pickup starting at 6:45 a.m. the day of the race. The one-mile race is due to start at 8 a.m., the two-mile race at approximately 8:20 a.m., and the three-mile race at approximately 8:50 a.m.

Awards from the Charlotte Running Company will be given to first, second, and third place overall and Masters for male and female runners. The awards will be given out immediately after the last race. Water and Gatorade (and Gu on a limited basis) will be available between races. Tech T’s are guaranteed for the first 300 runners.

All proceeds from the race will be donated to Samaritan’s Feet and the Mooresville Soup Kitchen. The race organizers will be collecting gently used running shoes and cans of food the day of the race.
