New Bern – Oct. 20, 7 a.m.

Soar to your new personal best at 65 feet in the air!

On your mark, get set, go! The 2012 Neuse River Bridge Run is proud to announce that the bridge is back and better than ever. Our new half-marathon and 10k routes will take runners across the 65-foot-high Neuse River Bridge before bringing them through the streets of historic and scenic New Bern. Don’t feel slighted if you’re a 5k racer – you’ll be racing the drawbridge and through downtown New Bern.

Walkers are welcome in the 10k and 5k races, but due to the three-hour time limit, we cannot register walkers for the half.

All race routes finish in the waterfront Union Point Park and are USATF-certified – in fact, last year we had a state record set in our 5k. We mean it when we say we have fast routes!

Start your Neuse River Bridge Run race experience with the Pasta Push-off Dinner Friday evening and finish with the post-race celebration, complete with runners’ massages, music, and refreshment – and not just water and nutrition bars!

Plus, you can bring your young racers for the SuperKids Fun Run on Friday evening as well as enjoy the BeActive, BeHealthy Expo Friday and Saturday.

Early registration is encouraged to guarantee your T-shirt size and to save you some cash with the early registration discount.

For more information on the race, including the eight nonprofit beneficiaries, the race routes, race times, and to register, please visit the Bridge Run website at www.bridgerun.org. Hurry; early registration ends Oct. 1.
