Nov. 3 – Concord, N.C.

 

The City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department’s 5 Alarm 5k will take place on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 9:30 a.m. in beautiful historic downtown Concord. The 5k will start and finish in downtown Concord on Means Avenue and will run through the McEachern Greenway and continue on the Downtown Connector Greenway to the finish. This is a USAT&F certified course. The 5 Alarm 5k will be followed by the Red Hot Rodeo for children and the Concord Downtown Development Corporation’s Runnin’ Hot Festival from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. This will include a chili cook-off by the city of Concord’s fire department and performances by The Concord Blues Preservation Club All-Star Band and The Blues Providers. The 5 Alarm 5k welcomes families to enjoy live music, games, and inflatables for children, a one-mile fun run, the chili cook-off, and of course the 5k. This event will be fun for every family member, whether they are running in the race or cheering their favorite runner to cross the finish line. All proceeds from the 5 Alarm 5k go to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.  

 

Registration is available at www.concordparksandrec.org or by walking in to 147 Academy Avenue NW, Concord, N.C., 28026. All preregistered runners will receive a goodie bag and T-shirt.
