E3: Elite Human Performance is excited to announce the return of the Triad’s premier Pink Ribbon Ride this fall. On Oct. 12, participants of the 2013 Gran Fondo with Friends will have the opportunity to ride with special guest retired pro cyclist George Hincapie as we ride together to change the picture of breast cancer.

The Gran Fondo with Friends is an annual charity ride that raises critical research dollars for breast-cancer research. For the second year in a row, Earlier.org has been chosen as the charity partner of the ride and a portion of the proceeds from the event, along with any additional fundraising done by participants, will help fund research seeking a biological earlier detection test for breast cancer.

Participants have the choice of a 12-, 25-, 43-, 61- or 100-mile route that takes them along beautiful North Carolina back roads toward Hanging Rock State Park. The ride begins with a 2-mile Grand Marshal’s Ride, led by breast-cancer survivors, as a way to honor these women and men and celebrate the courageous journey that they have traveled. Six fully stocked rest stops are stationed along the route and on-road SAG and technical support will be provided until 4 p.m.

Online registration is available until Aug. 10. More information can be found at www.granfondowithfriendsride.com.
