Make it a fun day for the family while supporting Johnston Health patients who are battling cancer. Walkers of all ages and baby strollers are welcome to participate in the Johnston Health Champions 5K on May 3, 2014, benefiting our Angel Fund.
The 5k is a timed, certified race being held in conjunction with Smithfield’s Ham & Yam Festival (www.hamandyam.com). Entry fee is $25 until April 4, after which it’s an additional $5. The 5k route includes a lovely segment of the Neuse River greenway and winds through a neighborhood dotted with stately historic homes. A high school band and cheering volunteers will put an extra lift in your step. HealthQuest Fitness & Wellness Center is presenting the 5k and, for a small fee, will offer its facilities to those who want to shower and change after the race.
