The 2014 Paws for Life 5K Road Race and 1-Mile Dog Walk is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18. This event features a competitive, certified 5k course and a family-friendly 1-mile walk. All of the proceeds from the event go to support the Franklin County Humane Society and the foster and low-cost spay and neuter programs. The Franklin County Humane Society is composed entirely of volunteers and is not associated with the Humane Society of the United States. They receive no local or national funding and depend on fundraisers like the Paws for Life event to continue their work to improve the lives of the animals of Franklin County and surrounding areas.
