Ride, race and explore America’s Historic Triangle where beautiful scenery and fast, flat courses await you at the Jamestown Triathlon and Gran Fondo. Starting and finishing at Jamestown Beach in Williamsburg, VA the Jamestown Triathlon and Gran Fondo are a short 3.5 hour drive from Raleigh-Durham.
Each year, athletes from around the country travel to Williamsburg, VA for the Jamestown Triathlon (Sunday June 7), and its sister event in September; the Patriot’s Triathlon. Held adjacent to the original Jamestown Settlement this race features great courses, convenient lodging options and numerous fun, post race family activities. Starting on the beach, athletes swim 1500 meters in the James River, bike a mostly flat, very well paved 24 mile course through the rural country side, then transition to an outstanding 10K run that weaves through woods and farmland on a mixture of paved and gravel jogging trails offering plenty of shade and water stops. The 2015 Jamestown Triathlon is the USA Triathlon Regional Championship, thus qualifying the top 33% of each age group for Age Group Nationals.
The Jamestown Gran Fondo (Saturday June 6) is a fun, meandering ride featuring 30, 62 and 100 mile routes that weave through rural James and Charles City Counties. You’ll ride along the famous Capital to Capital Trail, see Civil War battlefields, historic plantations and much more.
All triathletes and riders have access to the best post race party on the East Coast complete with multiple food options, fresh fruit, ice cream and cold beer. You’ll also ride away with a swag bag complete with a soft tri-blend shirt, cycling socks, water bottle and custom finisher medal.
