You see them all over town, and lets be real, you probably even get all of your friends together for a Tacky Light Tour. Year after year these famed houses decorate and illuminate neighborhoods, attracting visitors from all over. Now, the SportsBackers have turned this holiday tradition into an awesome new event for anyone and everyone! This 6k course shows off Midlothian’s best display of tacky lights – you just wait! You’ll see dozens of homes with over-the-top tacky lights in the Walton Park neighborhood, including the famous Dawnridge Ct. Make sure to bring your smartphones because you’ll be snapping tons of photos while you’re out there… Even shameless selfies. Don’t worry, we won’t judge. So dust off your ugliest holiday sweater, find anything you can that lights up or glows, hang your stockings by the chimney with care, and get your milk and cookies ready because Santa is coming early this year! Amenities include a Water & Cookie Stop along the course, bag check on-site, on-course entertainment, and a Post-Event Holiday Party. The event kicks off with one big mass start, but don’t worry, participatns will be organized in cool pace groups. Runners will line up in the “Reindeer” group, joggers with “Elves”, jog/walkers with “Gingerbread Men”, walk/joggers with “Penguins” and walkers and strollers with “Snowmen”. Line up with the group that best matches your projected pace.
