This year celebrates the 30th annual running of the Elizabeth 8K, Charlotte’s oldest road race and one of the most enjoyable. Scheduled for March 19, 2016 and presented by Novant Health, Harris Teeter and Hawthorne’s NY Pizza and Bar, the race features a USATF-certified course and a fantastic tour of the scenic residential streets of the Elizabeth neighborhood. The event also offers a 1.5-mile untimed run/walk and the Liz Kids’ Fun Run for children 6 and under. Proceeds benefit the beautification of the historic Elizabeth neighborhood and the replenishing of both Charlotte and Elizabeth’s tree canopies.
