Haley and I have been participating in Ramblin’ Rose Triathlons for six years. Ramblin’ Rose races have the best atmosphere of any triathlon we’ve ever participated in. Not only are the members of the race crew excited to be there but, there is significant “on race cheering” and the racers are so supportive of one another. Ramblin’ Rose is for all women, of all shapes, sizes, ages and experience and participating will make you feel good about all of your hard work.

The summer after my freshman year in college, I completed my second Ramblin’ Rose with my twin sister, our 10-year-old cousin, our aunt, our mom, and our grandma. It was one of the best experiences of our life— to see all of my family completing something together and seeing the joy on our grandma’s face when she crossed the finish line of her first triathlon. Then just a year later, we watched as she crossed the line again with her two sisters, all of them over the age of 65. While these memorable moments will be with both of us forever, every Ramblin’ Rose race is a different experience and brings unique memories, each embodying the idea that women can come together and help each other finish something amazing.

We feel empowered by Ramblin’ Rose. While we are not elite triathletes, we are triathletes and we have been inspired to push ourselves more because of Ramblin’ Rose races. This year, we used our three Ramblin’ Rose events this summer to help train for a half ironman. Those races helped us to feel confident in our ability to complete a longer distance triathlon.
