Raleigh – Aug. 25, 7:30 a.m.

The third annual Five-O Memorial Bike Ride will take off once again from Trek Raleigh. In 2011, the event had more than 300 cyclists, so sign up for this awesome ride that benefits the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation.

The Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation was founded in 2009 by a group of active and retired Raleigh police officers who are dedicated to honoring and remembering the Raleigh police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting and serving others. The founders of the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation participate each May during National Police Week in the Law Enforcement United Road To Hope Bike Ride, which is an annual 250-mile bicycle ride to Washington, D.C.  The ride honors fallen officers and raises funds for the families of fallen officers through Concerns of Police Survivors. The dream for the Raleigh Police Memorial Foundation began in 2009 when the Raleigh officers who rode in this event returned with a vision to build a memorial that would honor the fallen Raleigh police officers and ensure that they would never be forgotten.

The event has 50k and 100k options to cycle the beautiful open roads of North Raleigh beginning at Trek Raleigh at 10911 Raven Ridge Road in Raleigh. The ride has SAG vehicles and mechanical support on both routes, fully stocked rest stops, and lunch served at the end of ride. Helmets are required and rules of the road and safety apply.
