Hero Rush Obstacle Race
Charlotte Motor Speedway – Oct. 19
Music, Beer
Imagine you’re a firefighter, standing at the ready, waiting for the alarm bells, so you can slide down the pole and race to save lives. You’ll break down doors and bust through windows, crawl through treacherously tight spaces, and try not to get lost in a smoky maze of corridors. Next, make a tight, wet two-story climb, followed by a 20-foot plunge to a cold pool below. Round the corner and climb a ladder into a hoarder’s smoky apartment, watching for debris to go up in flames that could trap you inside. Next, slog through a slimy pool of hazardous waste … then grab a stretcher so you can evacuate victims from a mass casualty scene. These are just a few of the unique firefighter-themed obstacles that await you on the challenging three- to five-mile course of Hero Rush, the tough, crazy, fear-facing fun obstacle race. Created by veteran firefighters, Hero Rush returns to the zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 19, 2013. With more than 17 creative obstacles, Hero Rush will always challenge you and keep you guessing! And Hero Rush is more than just a race. The Inferno Midway offers great food and beverage options, vendors, music and a family area with two Kids’ Adventure Races, so even the junior heroes can go home with a race medal or fire chief’s helmet. It’s a fantastic, family-friendly event with something for everyone. Hero Rush is also dedicated to giving back to the fire service, and has partnered with two outstanding organizations, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the National Firefighters Endowment, both of which work to protect and honor our nation’s firefighters. Participants who join the “343 Wave” take part in a tribute to the 343 firefighters lost on 9/11, and their contributions go toward preventing line-of-duty deaths. Have you been imagining an obstacle race that goes above and beyond the average mud and muck? This is your chance. Hero Rush brings you the most unique event on the obstacle racing scene. Imagine yourself a hero.

The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Color Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on the planet! With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow: 1) Wear white at the starting line and 2) Finish plastered in color!
