Branscome Inc. and Child Development Resources present the CDR SuperHero 5k. This Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix Event is a scenic 5K through one of Williamsburg’s most beautiful neighborhoods. It boasts 800-plus attendees with 5K walkers and runners of all ages, fun runners, volunteers, enthusiastic families and supporters! It has become a favorite among the running community with the SuperHero theme and costume contest! The race brings supporters, runners, CDR volunteers, staff and families together to help support the nearly 1,000 babies and toddlers served annually by the agency.
This race is fun for the entire family with children’s activities, music, food, ice cream by Ben & Jerry’s, a raffle and awards. Grab your cape, lace up your tennis shoes and enjoy the CDR SuperHero 5K on Saturday, August 13. Registration includes t-shirt, food, ice cream, activities and chip timing.
Packet pickup opens at 7am on race day, which will feature fun and games for children. The One Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at 8am. Children who participate will receive a medal! the 5K Run and Walk will begin at 8:30am and will be followed by a post race raffle, food, and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream! The award ceremony will take place at 9:45am.
CDR serves babies and toddlers with special needs, developmental delays, or those at risk for delay. CDR works with the entire family so that all children, no matter their challenges, reaches his or her full potential. The agency is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary.
