Appalachian Trail Record
On July 31, Jennifer Pharr Davis, 28, completed the fastest hike of the 2,175-mile Appalachian Trail, averaging 46.9 miles per day, trimming 26 hours off the previous mark. While many people consider her endeavor an athletic feat, Jennifer sees it differently.
“I consider it to be a love story,” says Jennifer. “I love the trail, and far more than that I love my husband. Beyond romance, I believe true love is best demonstrated through endurance and perseverance. That is what got me through the bad weather, intense pain and many hardships this summer – a devotion to the trail and a complete trust and shared intimacy with my husband.”
